Hi Youths,
On Saturday we learned that honesty is a part of God's identity and also important in our relationships. Even though honesty is important, in our relationships with our family and friends, all of us have lied and have been lied to. But this cycle of dishonesty (lying and being lied to) is dangerous because lying leads to pain and breaks trust. So how can we stop this cycle of dishonesty?
- Find the reason behind your lie and ask God for courage and wisdom to speak the truth.
- Remember that honesty is part of God's identity, so to be more like Jesus we need to be honest.
- Remember that the truth builds trust.
When you always tell the truth, you become a better family member and friend, and you reflect the nature of God. So, commit to telling the truth.
This week, when you catch yourself about to tell a lie, pray and ask God to give you the courage and wisdom to be honest and tell the truth.
