We all have secrets.

Accusation is one of the deadliest schemes Satan uses to drag us away from God. Planting seeds of deception and doubt in our thoughts that lead us questioning the basis of our faith. Satan use these accusations to enslave the children of God in an endless cycle of guilt and shame.

There is only one thing under heaven and earth that can break Satan’s scheme — the blood of Jesus Christ.

The blood of Jesus Christ that was spilled when he willingly sacrificed himself on the cross.

The blood of Jesus Christ that was shed when he bared the sin of the world upon his own shoulder

The blood of Jesus Christ that was offered to satisfied the law in redeeming the guilty

And the only requirement from us is:

  1. our acknowledgement
  2. our faith

Acknowledging we are sinful and helpless by our own effort.
Confessing our wrongful past, our mistakes, our bad choices.
Seeking repentance from actions that otherwise should be unforgivable.

Because by law, we are suppose to be punish. (Rom. 6:23) Our natural eventual end is death.

But God provided a way against all of Satan’s arsenal.

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Heb. 11:1) By faith we acknowledge our wrongdoings, confess our sins and seek repentance before God.
By faith we believe Jesus Christ having take on the sin of the world, willingly died for us. By faith we proclaim Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.

And God promised us:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

We are “made right with God” — justified. (Rom. 3:22-24)
Because of this faith we have in Jesus Christ,
Because we confess our sin and repent of our wrongdoings before God, Because we proclaim and declare that Christ is our Saviour and our Lord, The Spirit dwells in us, declares we are just before God, and give us new life.

Not only are we made righteous by the blood of Christ. Not only do we now live by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. We are now the children of God. (Rom. 8:16-17)

There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1)

The next time when words of accusation taunts you,
you can hold true to this promise,
grab on to it tight within your hands,
stand bold and strong against Satan’s condemnation and accusation, and you tell him,

I am a child of God, justified, because of the blood of Jesus Christ! (Rom. 8:31-39)

For we find our identity in Jesus Christ alone.

Only Christ gets to tell us who we are.

Christ alone defines you.
