This week's big idea was: Let “Your Kingdom come” come into your kingdom. We learned that when Jesus taught us to pray, He made it clear that we should put God’s Kingdom over our own by choosing to trust God’s way over our own. But for a lot of us, we like being in control and so we want to have things go our way rather than God's way. It is this desire for control that actually causes us to be anxious and just as we talked about last week (about anxiety being the whistle), control is the heat that causes anxiety. Anxiety is the whistle but control is the heat.
This week, pray the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. Pay special attention to verse 10 and as you pray this verse, try letting go of your need to have things go the way you want and let things go God's way.
