1 Kings 22:1-14

Leadership is about making decisions. When we are making decisions, to whom do we listen? Among the many opinions, do you listen ONLY to the opinions that you like to hear?

From the story of King Ahab, we learn about the importance of listening and leadership. The problem of King Ahab is that he only wanted things to go in his own way. Instead of inquiring the Lord with a humble heart,  he already made up his mind and ignored what God said.  In the story, all prophets (except Micaiah) wanted to please the king and made false predictions.

TO KNOW

Instead of listening only to favorable advice, Godly leaders should seek God first in any important decision-making. No matter how powerful a leader you are, there is a God above you.

TO DO

Memorize Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

FAMILY DISCUSSION

In light of the Bible teaching about "In all your ways acknowledge him",  how can we acknowledge God in our study? our home? when talking with our friends?
