After Esther became Queen, Haman came to power when he won the favour of the King. According to the King's rule, everyone had to bow before Haman at the King's gate. All obeyed but one. Mordecai, a Jew, refused to do so. This made Haman very angry and he plotted to destroy all Jews in the kingdom as an act of revenge. Haman persuaded the King to sent out a decree to order all officials to kill the Jews. This is when Mordecai commanded Esther to see the King and plead him. Esther hesitated, but Mordecai reminded her that this may be a reason why God put her in the position of being the queen. If Esther ignored this, she will just bring death to herself and her father's house. Esther then agreed to go and see the King and said to Mordecai, "...if I perish, I perish."
As Mordecai had reminded Esther of her becoming a queen, the youths are encouraged to review the roles God has given them in their lives. For example, a student, a son/daughter, a brother/sister, etc. Having identified their roles, they are encouraged to acknowledge that in every role they should be a living testimony of God to others. We should not be afraid to live out the Christian values in front of others, just as Esther risking her life to do what is right in God's eyes.
