Esther 7 and 8

This week we conclude the Esther teaching series and finished reading chapters 7 and 8. In these two chapters, we learned that Esther pleaded for her people before the king and the Jews were saved from the evil plan plotted by Haman.

Although God’s name was not mentioned in this book, we discovered that God is at work even when He is silent. God is sovereign in fulfilling His covenantal promise to save His people. In times of trials and difficulties, we can rejoice in hope, be patient and be constant in prayers. (Romans 12:12)

This week, youth are encouraged to pray for a friend at church. Here is an example:

Dear God,
I pray for my friend right now. I pray that you will help them with the struggles they are going through this week. For you know what they need at this moment. Draw near to them and let them know your presence. Open their eyes, ears, and hearts to you. Speak to them as they read your word and bring verses of encouragement and comfort to their attention. Help them to remember your promises and increase their faith. I pray that you will calm any fear they may have. Replace it with the confidence to obey your word and to trust you. I pray that your guidance will be always with them. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
