Ephesians 4:1-16

Our world is full of divisions. We are familiar of divisions between individuals, tribes, or even countries. It seems impossible to imagine how unity can ever be achieved. .

The power of the cross is about this impossible plan – bringing everything into unity in God. Because of the cross, we can be united with God. Because of Jesus’ blood, we are brought together to become brothers and sisters in Christ, and the story continues.

God invites His church and His people to be part of the plan, to witness the plan of unity. It is a form of unity that is different from what we used to experience. It is not asking us to conform out of fear, but to become united in His love. It is His love that binds us together. In God’s plan, He also blesses us with diversity. Each of us has different experiences and gifts. When these differences come together under the name of Jesus, we bring out the best of God’s unity.

This is what Paul said in Ephesians 4, that each of us is gifted differently by God. But we are all under Jesus’ leadership, for the same ministry.

from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Eph 4:16)

It is a strong testimony to the world, when different people come together not for themselves, but out of the same love, for the same purpose and ministry. It is amazing and often very attractive. Can you believe God has invited you into such an amazing plan and ministry?
