In its most fundamental form, shalom can be translated as peace, but it is so much more than the mere absence of conflict.
Neither does shalom simply means good.
Shalom embraces completeness, wholeness, welfare, prosperity, tranquillity, right relation, and covenantal harmony.
The core idea is that life is complex, uncertain and complicated, full of moving parts and relationships and situations,
and when any of these is out of alignment or missing, your shalom breaks down.
Only the Lord God YHWH can restore and bring shalom.
From the story in the Book of Judges, we see Gideon experiencing shalom.
Likewise, do we sometimes journey through seasons of life where we find God quite silent even in our desperate cries?
Do you trust that God is always YHWH Shalom even when he is silent?
