There For You (Week 3)

Hi Youths,

Over the past three weeks, we talked about how we should follow in Jesus' example on how to navigate our friendships.

In Week 1, we talked about the importance of diversity. Being friends with people who are different from us helps us to grow!

In Week 2, we saw how Jesus showed love and care for his friends. We also learned why it is important for us to also show kindness and love to our friends as followers of Christ because our love reflects God's love for them.

This week we learned how Jesus resolved drama between two sisters, Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42). Most of us have probably experienced some friend drama and so it is important for us to look to Jesus' example on how we can handle drama in our lives. Jesus showed us a way we can follow when we are caught between the argument of two friends:
  1. Listen to your friends share their feelings.
  2. Share and speak the truth in love of what you are seeing from your point of view.
  3. Invite your friends to do things differently if there is a better way forward.
Our friends mean a lot to us and so when we are stuck in the middle of tough situations like being caught between the drama of two friends, it is difficult to handle. But remember, Jesus is with you all the time. He can show you ways to resolve friend drama if you ask Him for help because He cares for you and knows how important friendships are!
