MESSAGE SUMMARY

Jeremiah was called to minister during a challenging time.
Judah was on the verge of destruction. yet the people ignored God's warnings.
They were unrepentant and continued to live their lives as though there was no God.
Even though they confess, the confessions were empty.
Even though they cried out to God, the cries were superficial.

God did not relent even though they cried out to Him.
God did not relent even when they confessed.
Instead, God told Jeremiah to stop praying for them.
God told Jeremiah to continue to pronounce judgment on these people.
Jeremiah was caught between the hammer and the anvil.
Jeremiah was feeling loneliness, hurt, frustrations, disappointment.
And when he went to God in a complaint, God's response was to rebuke and remind Jeremiah of his calling.

God sees more than our moment in time.
When God calls us at our moment in time, He sees the past and the future.
He sees the entire timeline.
He foreknew us and predestined us before we were born.
He called us to conform to the image of His Son.
He justifies us and glorifies us at the end.
Through Paul, we received the reminder that all things that happen can be for the good of His great works.

God reminded Jeremiah of His calling, because God sees more than Jeremiah's moment in time.
Perhaps in your journey of following God you are faced with tough situations.
You are feeling indignant, frustrated, angry, disappointed, sad, alone.
God reminds us through Jeremiah and Paul that He knew us before we were born, we were called by Him to conform to the image of His Son.
God called us to minister at where we are at this moment in time.
