Proverbs 15:4, 12:8, 16:24, James 3:9-10

Words are powerful - both positively and negatively.

Be careful with your words. Once they are said, they can be only forgiven, not forgotten.

  1. A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. (Prov 15:4)
  2. There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Prov 12:8)
  3. With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. (James 3:9-10)
  4. Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. (Prov 16:24)

Words can inspire. And words can destroy. Choose yours well.
