Haines moved to Canada from Hong Kong with his family nearly 30 years ago. He graduated from the University of British Columbia and currently holds a senior management position at a local food manufacturing company.
He came to the Lord during his high school years and was baptized in 1995. Haines pursued theological studies at Regent College and actively engaged in ministry roles within both local church and parachurch organizations. As one of the founding members of Kingdom Evangelical Church, he has served in various capacities, including worship leader, OIKOS leader, treasurer, and deacon.
Haines and his wife, Joyce, reside in Richmond, and they are blessed with a daughter.
