Marriage is not the answer to unhappiness
- Society and media often portray singleness as a "deficiency," suggesting women are incomplete without a romantic partner.
- Romance is falsely sold as the missing puzzle piece to happiness and stability.
- If marriage guaranteed joy, divorce rates would not exist.
- Instead, marriage can sometimes intensify loneliness or disappointment if used to fill a spiritual void.
The Source of True Joy
- The Apostle Paul, writing from prison, found contentment "in the Lord" regardless of his circumstances.
- His secret was realizing that knowing Christ is of surpassing worth compared to all other gains.
- Jesus, the only man who will never let us down, is the source of true joy and wholeness.
Embracing Singleness
- Singleness is not a waiting period but a unique time to focus fully on following Jesus.
- Anchoring oneself in Christ during this season prepares a person better for any future, including marriage.
Praying to Jesus, the real joy giver
Lord Jesus, the day is done.
I confess that today, I look for worth in mirrors, phones, and the approval of others.
By your grace, I declare that I am already complete.
I am not a half-empty cup begging for a refill.
You are the Bridegroom who knows me.
You are the Treasure that holds me.
You are the joy I crave.
I rest now, fully known and fully satisfied in You.
Amen.
