A Worthwhile Journey
Have you ever passed on a great opportunity because you simply felt like you weren't "ready"? Whether it is a promotion at work, a new relationship, or a step of faith, we often stall. We wait for a perfect moment when all our doubts vanish and our lives are completely sorted out. We treat "readiness" like a finish line we have to cross before we are allowed to begin. We do this with life, and unfortunately, we do this with God.
Readiness is a Journey
Through the messy, beautiful, and deeply relatable story of Peter, we discover that Jesus doesn't call the equipped; He makes us ready in the calling. From his anxious moments in the fishing boat to his devastating failures and ultimate restoration by the Sea of Galilee, Peter's life proves that our willpower is never enough. We don't have to wait for a perfect moment and feel like readiness is a destination. We are reminded that we follow Jesus to make ourselves ready. Jesus meets us in our unreadiness, catches us when we fall, and walks with us through the entire transformational process.
The Invitation
The invitation for us is to take a step out and begin the journey with Jesus. Whether your next step is trusting Christ for the first time, getting baptized, or simply saying "yes" to a new area of obedience, don't wait. Trust the Savior who walks with you, and take the step with Him!
You don’t have to get ready to follow Jesus; You follow Jesus to make yourself ready.
