It’s been more than 2000 years!
We’ve been waiting so long we have lost the realism, the hope, the anticipation, ultimately the posture a Christian should have towards Jesus’ return.
Meanwhile, we’ve also grown more at ease with the comfortable life we enjoy.
In all honesty, do we really want disruptions to the life we are enjoying now?
Our attitude and perspective on Christ’s return directly shape and influence how we choose to live every day.
Jesus’ return has become a futuristic jargon we speak of more than a reality that dictates our daily actions.
Chapter 4-5 in 1 Thessalonians focuses on one simple question:
“how you ought to walk and to please God” (4:1)
So, what should be the proper attitude towards The Day of the Lord as a Christian?
- Keep awake and be sober (5:6)
• Pay attention and be alert of the changing culture
• Know the truth & Recognize the lies - Safeguard your mind (5:8)
- Encourage and build up one another (5:11, 14)
