On serving as a member of the body

- For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them (Romans 12:4-6)

On giving to the ministry of the church

- If we (Paul and Barnabas) have sown spiritual things among you (the Corinth church), is it too much if we reap
material things from you? (1 Corinthians 9:11)
- The Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel. (1 Corinthians 9:14)

Attitude of a disciple of Jesus Christ

- Jesus said, "You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet,
you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
- Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. (John 13:13-17)
