Most Christians would agree that the Bible is important because it is “the Word of God.” We ought to read the Bible regularly and diligently to follow God’s will.

The problem is: many of the books and passages in the Bible are hard to understand.

Bible reading seems to create more questions than answers. We often feel frustrated rather than strengthened. Soon we give up. After a few unsuccessful attempts, we conclude that Bible reading is not for us.

What place can the Bible possibly have in our lives?
