Biography: 

• 2008: Joined KEC while studying theology in Vancouver.

• 2014: Joined the staff team full-time.

• 2018: Called to the pastoral team as Assistant Pastor.

• Current Role: Associate Pastor overseeing Cantonese discipleship, Oikos small groups, Alpha, Ignite courses, Guest Team, and counselling ministry.

Introduction & Recommendation:

Sherrien is the driving force behind the Oikos small group ministry, currently directing 27 groups and nearly 60 leaders. Her core focus is mobilizing discipleship and leadership training across the church. She coordinates a wide variety of groups and classes, including grief support groups, the Alpha course, and the Ignite courses.

When she preaches, her profound love for God's Word truly shines. Her sermons are deeply rooted in biblical truth yet incredibly practical, helping our congregation see how faith actively shapes our daily lives and character. 

Sherrien is a phenomenal team player. Her background in pastoral counseling gives her a keen sensitivity to people's emotional and inner needs. She is resilient and always willing to tackle new ministry challenges head-on. Her courage and dedication have not only launched successful ministries but have also been a tremendous blessing to our staff team.

Over her 18 years at KEC, she has consistently shown a submissive heart and a deep desire to walk alongside the church. Having completed the required 400-page reading list and ordination preparation document, she has proven herself fully prepared for the calling God has entrusted to her. With the full support of the Lead Pastoral Team and the Church Council, we joyfully recommend Pastor Sherrien Sze for ordination at Koinonia Evangelical Church.
