Exodus 3-4

When Moses was called to rise to the challenge

  • He was haunted by his previous failures, and chose to decline God’s invitation
  • As one of the most reluctant leaders in the Bible, Moses pushed back repeatedly

When God appeared to Moses at the wilderness

  • The Lord revealed His heart to Moses about seeing the affliction and suffering of His people
  • The Lord wanted to use Moses to bring His people out of Egypt.

Moses’ Pushing Back (Exodus 3-4)

  • “Who am I? “ (3:11)
  • “If they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What then shall I say to them?” (3:13)
  • “They will not believe me or listen to my voice.” (4:1)
  • “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent and slow of speech and of tongue.” (4:10)
  • “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” (4:13)
